DETAILS
Can I apply as an individual?
Yes, you are welcome to apply as an individual or a team of up to 4. If a venture team has more than four members, the team will need to select a subset of up to four members that can represent the rest of the team in the Global SIC, and obtain a written consent before the deadline for round 1 submission from those venture team members that are left out of the Global SIC team.
Am I eligible?
Any current student (as of December 14, 2017) of a participating education institution can participate in the Global SIC individually or as part of a team (with maximum of four members per team). At least one team member must be a current undergrad / postgraduate/ doctoral student as of December 14, 2017 at any of the participating institutions (see the Global SIC
homepage for a current list of participating institutions). The Rest of the team members can be from any walk of life (i.e. belong to the same institute OR another partner institute OR another non-partner institute, OR not be a student at all)!
If I make it to the Duke finals, what do I need to prepare?
You will have to prepare a 6 minute pitch with a power point or a Prezi that will be presented in front of our selected judges on the Duke Final Pitch date.
Can you tell me more about the prizes?
Up to two finalist teams from Duke will get to compete (in-person or virtually) for over $50,000 in seed funding at the final pitch competition in San Diego, CA, USA, scheduled for June 23-24, 2018.
The finalist teams will receive travel funding to attend as well.
