TIMELINE
February 15th: Round 1 Submissions Due
In Round One, students will study a social or environmental problem, including why it became a problem, stays a problem, and what has already been done to address it, and by whom. Submission due by 11:59 pm PST. Student-led teams will be asked to apprentice with a social or environmental issue. Teams will produce a visual map (infographic) and an executive summary of the issue that demonstrates understanding of the problem and its causes, the current solution pool, and indicate gaps in current service provision.

April 10: Round 2 Submissions Due
In Round Two, students will propose a social venture to address the issue they have studied. Round 2 submissions are due April 10, 2018. Submission due by 11:59 pm PST. Student-led teams will be asked to suggest a solution to their identified problem that is feasible, acceptable to the community/target population, and can demonstrate impact, sustainability, and scalability. To do this, the round 2 submission will require the teams to submit a complete social business model canvas and a 2 minute video about the social venture. Samples, resources, and specific guidelines will be provided to participating institutions by January 30, 2018.

Duke Final Pitch event is scheduled for April, 18th
The winning team will get a Duke prize and will also get to compete (in-person or virtually) for over $50,000 in seed funding at the final pitch competition in San Diego, CA, USA, scheduled for June 23-24, 2018.
